All that's left of the storm are a few buildings and a destroyed church. Still, a small number of fishermen families call Dhanushkodi home. Their livelihood is reliant on the tourists who visit Dhanushkodi. They are grilling seafood, making oysters, and pearl necklaces, among other things. Dhanushkodi's railway station is located by the sea. It appears as though the train track is halfway into the sea.
