History of Ekantha Ram temple!:

Here we will see about the history of Rameswaram Arulmiku Ekanta Ram temple.Ekanta Rama Temple is located near Thangachimadam on the way west to Pampan from Rameswaram. There, the idols of Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Sitapirathi and Anumar are seen in the sanctum sanctorum.Usually in most of the Ram Temples we visit, we have only seen Villandya Sri Ramapiran. But here Rama is shown here without the bow and arrow in Lakshmana's hand and Hanuman without the story which he always has in his hand, restraining the five senses and quietly dynamic.

It is said that this is the place where advice was held on how to rescue Rama's wife Sita, who was abducted by Ravana. How are we going to Sri Lanka with their monkey armies? The history of the temple site also says that Hanuman waited at this site for Rama's order as to what his work was there.Here Lakshmana, Sugreeva and Hanuman were deliberating in solitude about the construction of a sea bridge when the noise of the sea in the surrounding area was high.So Raman ordered the ocean not to make noise as it was disturbing their counsel. It is believed that since then the sea has been calm here.

A great Rama devotee and musical genius, Thyagaraja Swami's two kirtans on this Ekanta Rama are excellent. There is a tirtha well on the side of the Ekantha Ram Temple.Its history is very interesting. That is, there is a belief among the devotees that this Tirtha well was created by Rama himself to give longevity to Hanuman's army of monkeys.Also, the history of Thala says that this well was created by Rama so that if they bathed in this well after going to war, all the wounds on their bodies would be healed.
